One and one web hosting, 1&1 internet, 1 and 1 web hosting, 1&1 webhosting, 1 and 1 1&1 Has Decided They Can Bill Me Until the Day I Die and I can't Stop Them

Years ago, I picked up a few domains through 1&1, they decided I ordered webhosting too (I didn't). I didn't really log into the account often, because I had no reason to. Eventually my address changed, and they decided to renew my webhosting account without a working credit card, then send me the bill. The bill went to an old address, as the account is inactive. I was unaware of this until a collections agency contacted me. Pissed, I called 1&1. We reached an agreement (now mysteriously absent from their records) that they cancel everything, never bill me again, close my account, and I would pay for the webhosting I didn't want (again).

Fast forward a couple years, and I get another call from an agency. They billed me again. Without a credit card. And miraculously I didn't reply to the mail they sent to the wrong address (which they knew was wrong) from my theoretically closed account.

By this point, I don't know much about the account. I got it about 4 years ago. Because I don't have access to the e-mail it was made with, they will not let me close the account. And because they will bill even with an expired and out of date credit card, the only way to stop them from billing me is to login to the account I can't log in to.

Better than that? All my services are still active. ALL of them.

According to them, they can bill me literally forever on the account I've already cancelled once, for the product I didn't want in the first place, even WITHOUT a valid credit card

Steer clear of 1&1. Once they have your information, you may very well find yourself screwed. They're a rebill (like the type the FTC hates) on steroids.
