I am a new member of hypercon. I signed up three days ago, but am very unpleased about everything.
First, when I signed up, I used my credit card and their billing department said that it was the wrong address I provided (which is not true) and they billed me an extra fee. This is not the first time I use this credit card, and I never had any problem with it in the past. So I know they lied.
Second, after I signed up and downloaded the "setup. Exe" file and installed it, I could not successfully connect to the internet using hypercon. The dialing would start, then it would say "verifying username and password" then a sound would click and there will be instant disconnection.
Since I signed up, I had never successfully connected to the internet using Hypercon, not even once. I actually have another ISP and also use phone line to dial and it had always worked fine and good, so the problem is not my phone line. They lied again, saying that it is my problem.
Third, due to my problems of connecting, I called the support line for a total of 5 times over 2 days and they were never able to solve the issue. Fourth, when I call them, they hung up on me twice in the middle of the conversations.
Overall, I am very unsatisfied with their service. I am also very unpleased that I have paid 21$ (10 for set-up fee, 10 for monthly fee, and 1 for extra billing service fee) for a software that never worked at all (I could not connect one single time to the internet using hypercon). I had to send out (email, phone calls, etc) over 20 requests before they let me cancel my account. They just kept saying "let see what's wrong", well, everything was wrong, that's what's wrong.
Most of all, they have a 30-day money back guarantee according to the Read-me file describing the Terms of Service (that showed up when I installed their software), mentioning that "In the event that within thirty days of subscription, Subscriber terminates an account by written notice of termination received by Hypercon, we will refund to Subscriber the then published account fee up to the account fee (but not any setup, install or other fees) for one month for dialup connection accounts." But they never refunded me my money, partially or totally.
They are a bunch of liars and stealers.
Now I understand where their shortcut name "hypercon" came from: it is hyper con. "Con" standing for "they are all conmen". Yeah, that's right: hyperconning people. That's what they are.
