Being Charged for Service even After Cancellation - Long Distance Land Line - New Jersey

This Ticket is for Long Distance Landline in New Jersey

I've been on the AT&T customer service line for over an hour, and still no resolution (over 30mins trying to get to the RIGHT department, and the rest talking to the rep). The result of today's call was that the off shore rep i was speaking to claimed that he's the only one working on site at this time and will escalate my case. His superior may/may not get back to me. The earliest being next Mon or Tues. REALLY AT&T?

I'm highly frustrated and hope this ticket would get some needed attention.

My Situation:

Canceled long distance phone service due to relocation starting Nov5. Recently got a statement for billing cycle Nov5-Dec4. Called rep and he explained to me that this is b/c I made a call on Nov4, which would be included in the next billing cycle.

So now I'm being charged b/c of ONE phone call. Question is: How was I supposed to know that the cycle starts from Nov4 when all my prior bills (including the present one) state the 5th of every month? There's no way of knowing! I was misinformed. And the Rep who helped me cancel failed to warn me of the discrepancy in dates.

As a loyal customer from all these years, I am extremely irritated by how the situation is being handled and how i'm treated. The bill is due tomorrow, and I don't think I should pay.

I would appreciate it if someone would help with this situation, please contact me.
