CompUSA has permanently lost my business!
I went to their store several times to talk with their technicians before making a very large purchase. I was buying a new 23 inch mac monitor which at that time was approximately $1800. I finally decided to make the purchase and clarified with their sales rep if the monitor would work with my system and video card (I did not own a mac). He assured me that it would but I would have to purchase a deviator, which was another $140.00.
I purchased both the deviator and the monitor. I took them out of the box, went to hook them up and found that they would not work with my video card. I went back to CompUSA and the sales person talked me into purchasing another video card another $149.00. (Stupid me)
I hooked everything up and found that it didn't work. The monitor kept rolling. I packed everything up and took it back to the store.
They argued and told me that it should have worked and kept over $200 for a restocking fee. The next day the manager of CompUSA called me telling me that they had sold me the wrong Deviator and that I could pick all of it back up. I told him that I had already purchased another monitor and would like the restocking fee back because it was their fault that I was sold the wrong part. He refused.
I filed a complaint with their main headquarters. Someone called telling me that I would be receiving a call from the store manager. Never received the call.
I went back to the store "pricing" other products when a sales person approached me. I told him of the problem and he took my phone number telling me that he would have the manager call me. Never received a call.
I guess to sum it up they figured they were able to rip me off over $200 so they no longer needed my business.
