Bargain Retailing Limited Internet Auction Scam! Twickenham

I won a Nikon Coolpix S220 Camera on an auction website. I paid for the item with my credit card immediately. Several days later I was contacted by the employee Lisa Duffin and told that they "cannot" send the item to the US. They're reasoning was that because it had a UK cord I wouldn't be able to figure out how to charge the device in the US. Nikon is an international brand, parts are easy to find, and a UK to US adaptor was only $2USD. I insisted that they ship the item and they agreed to do so and said it would arrive in 5-10 days. It's been over a month now and it still hasn't arrived. I requested a tracking number a few weeks ago and they were unable to provide one. The combination of the initial refusal to sell, the lack of a proper tracking number, and the fact that the package was over 2 weeks late led me to believe they had no intention of completing the sale. I contacted my credit card and filed a dispute. At this point, I am still trying to resolve the situation with the company. I would gladly pay $41 USD and reverse the dispute and this complaint if they would agree to sell me the camera and ship it to the US. After I filed the dispute I was contacted by a very aggressive employee "Mark Craddock" who is apparently head of at least 5 different departments at the company. He actually accused me of fraud because I disputed the charges and said I had no legal right to do so. My credit card company disagrees and said that it is in fact my legal right. It's unfortunate that this company is trading in USD if they are unable/unwilling to ship specific items to the US. They cannot pick and choose which sale agreements they uphold. I did receive a $20 MP4 player purchased on the same day as the camera only 5 days after purchase indicating that US customs is not the problem as another employee suggested. I suspect they simply use the more "valuable" items to generate large quantities of bids, profit off the bids ($1USD each), and then refuse to ship those items to the winner. None of the other customers are aware of the fact that the winner doesn't receive the item either. Why if they "cannot" ship the Nikon cameras to the US are they still selling dozens of them in exchange for USD on their website? Who do you think trades in USD? Americans. This is a scam. It's sad because I really wanted to give that camera as a birthday present and it never arrived. All I have is a UK to US adaptor I bought for the silly thing. This experience has been so disappointing, that it is likely the first and last time I will do business with the UK.
