Poor customer service - Return Policy

I purchased a Nikon S9100 3 weeks ago for a trip to Europe. I had trouble with the camera while on the trip. When I returned, I took the camera back to the Woodland, CA store, where I purchased it. I simply wanted a replacement camera, as I like the features on the Nikon. I was told that they would not replace the camera, and I needed to send it to Nikon.

I know that almost every other vendor, particularly large ones that handle large numbers of products from a specific vendor would have simply replaced the item. I have purchased several items at Best Buy over the last few years. This will likely be the last.
