Customer service replacement parts

I have a wireless optical Microsoft Special Edition Intellipoint mouse. I purchased it about two months ago, but now it refuses to double click. No problem, I called Microsoft customer support and talked to a very helpful gentleman. Unfortunately, the call took 45 minutes and cost me $4.50 to make. Small price to pay, right?

I then had to call another number so they could tell me where to fax a copy of the bottom of my mouse as well as my address, phone number and e-mail address. OK, but it's a long-distance fax and it cost me $2!

I received an e-mail confirmation with an order status link. I clicked on it and was told my order was on hold. No reason, didn't say to call either. Waited several days and it's still on hold. I called customer service (toll free, thankfully) and I had to prod them to tell me WHY my order wasn't being filled. Though I blew up the mouse 200%, they could read my product ID, but not the XO number and that I'd better fax it again and handwrite all the information as well. For some odd reason, they could accept my writing the number on the fax if they couldn't read it, but they can't take this information over the phone.

I'm sick of getting the run around on this. The mouse they're going to send me isn't even the one I have. Supposedly, it's "no longer in the database" and I'm to receive a mouse with different features and extra buttons that I didn't want. I feel like they're putting out hoop after hoop so I'll give up and buy a replacement at the store. This fiasco has cost me $6.50 so far on a $30 mouse. With the extra fax it will be $8.50. I just want my replacement! No more hoops! I'm not a circus poodle.

If anyone has some addresses I can write to in order to complain about this awful service, I'd love to have them.
