We presently live in an area that is sparse on internet providers and thought we would try Hughes net because of the commercial. We learned the hard way that they failed to provide all information before we signed up. When the system failed to work, my husband contacted them and learned we would need to get a complimentary "token". This lasted all of 5 minutes. When I called, I could not understand the assistor and I discovered that the customer service is contracted out. I finally spoke with a "technical person" who admitted the service is not for a 3 computer household. His attempt to suggest downloading at 2am to 7am was laughable and he seemed to imply we should be monitoring our usage. (Did I mentioned that the tools on the service were not working so you could monitor?)
Needless to say, we have cancelled the service and will be mailing back the box. I also will file complaints with the federal and state authorities since they seem to believe we are not cancelled until 6/25/10, the date the bill is paid to instead of 6/4/10.
Beware of Hughes Net!!!
