I hired Jacob Van Houten: owner of Aloha Computers to work on both my computer and my website. We always hope that we can count on people that we pay to do a job, especially when they clain to specialize in that particular field.
It didn't take more than a couple of months until my computer started crashing and I tried to contact Jacob. He would no longer answer the phone and was avoiding me. I couldn't understand it.
At that point I had to hire another computer tech to find out that someone had manually given my computer and very deep seeded virus and that there was nothing we could do.
We were lucky to be able to even do a backup. My compuetr was only six months old and I was now out two thousand dollars.
Tp make a long story short, months later I find out from someone who has known him for years that he has a close friend in the same business I am in and that to be loyal to his friend he stolen copies of all of my business documents including contracts.
He also has access to everything on my website. Files that made no sense started showing up?
I never heard from Jacob again. Anyone who needs a tech to rely on should stay clear of this guy who poses as a larger and legitimate company. Find someone with references.
People don't know it, but there's a real issue with this in Hawaii. Either people are very friendly, or they are racist and don't want you there if you are Caucasian.
Since then I have relocated back to the states and would never bother again.
Vacation and then leave or you'll be sorry.
