AOL NetMarket Trilegiant RIPOFF Dishonest Fraudulent Billing Midland North Carolina

I signed up for a free trial membership with AOL, I was lead to believe that if I cancelled my free membership before the end of the free trial period, I would not be charged for anything. Approximately 2-3 weeks before my free trial was to end, I Called in my cancellation. I also spoke to a AOL representative via e-mail to confirm my cancellation, since I had not received any reply or paperwork in the mail. I was told my membership would be cancelled on its billing date and I would not be billed for anything.

However, two days after the supposed billing date, October 15th, I looked at my bank statement and was shocked to see that not only did AOL Netmarket take $69.99 out of my checking account, but another $69.99 was taken from my checking account by AOL Credit Alert. I have yet been able to get in touch with AOL Credit Alert to find out what happened, but I did speak with a representative from AOL Netmarket. He said that I agreed to some membership that I never received any information on.

He also told me that just because I cancelled my membership with AOL, my cancellation did not apply to them and I had to cancell with them seperately because they were seperate from AOL. Since I signed on for the free membership and cancelled it thru AOL and thru AOL Netmarket Every three to six months Netmarket debits my account for $69.99. Its as if they call first to see if the funds are available. I have signed a form with my bank to let my bank pursue charges against AOL Netmarket, AKA Trilegiant Corperation.

Cosidering that I have tried over a 2 year period to cancell all affiliation with AOL, NetMarket, AOl Credit Alert anything AOL. You cannot get rid of the underhanded fraudulant aggressive tactics they use to ripoff the general consumer market. Believe me NOTHING is free for every minute of so called free internet service you use you will pay for it in the form of hidden charges aka affiliates such as AOL Netmarket, that are almost impossible to get rid of without cancelling your bank account in order to get a new account number or paying a $30 DOLLAR OR MORE FEE TO STOP PAYMENT AS A NOTIFICATION ON YOUR ACCOUNT AND THAT ISNT PERMANANT. YOU HAVE TO REPEAT THIS AFTER A FEW MONTHS.

I feel that the consumer is being mislead. If a consumer sign's up for a membership (even if it is FREE), the consumer should be made aware of all things such as, what comes with the membership or what they need to do to cancel their membership (s) in order to avoid ANY and ALL unnecessary billing. This information should be sent to the consumer no matter what!!! The consumer should not have to pay for AOL's Fraudulant Conduct. Also, Please besure before you agree to anything conserning your checking, credit card account numbers that once you are displeased about anything you can cancell immediately. Not pending 8 business days or you doing a stop payment on your account.

AOL has a misleading & dishonest way of doing business with the consumer. And they dont advertise how to get rid of them once you want to. Millions of unhonest dollars is getting marketed to AOL and affiliates using aggressive marketing tools such as what I'm experiecing now. Over the past two years I've been ripped off in the amount of 495.95 including NSF charges from my bank where they took the money and the overdraft had to pay it. AOL netmarket has refunded me one payment of 69.95 ONLY to once again appear on my bank statement for the month of August. Upon seeing this finally I'm pursuing charges thru my bank. Quick method to rid yourself of AOL (Cancell your bank account and open again with a new banking account number).
