I have a Samsung 20 in wide screen monitor which turned red in november 09. The whole screen was tinted red. I sent it in to Amkotron which is who Samsung uses for monitors. They sent it back a few days later with the problem unresolved. They told me to send it in again but my warranty was due to expire so I asked for an exchange instead. They told me exchanges were only available after the repair center failed to fix the problem three times. I again told them my warranty was almost up and I wanted to get it resolved immediately. The person on the line told me they would extend my warranty to leave time for the repairs. I got the monitor back a few days later and this time the red was gone but there was a new problem. To me this was a failure on so many levels, failure of communication was the main one. I called Samsung and they would only give me Amkotron's number since my warranty was expired. I was pretty amazed that Amkotron would actually use inferior or incompatible parts to repair my monitor. The monitor's maximum resolution is now 1280x1024, before I sent it into them it was 1680x1050. They replaced one of the boards inside the monitor with a board that came from a 17 inch monitor. After explaining this to them and even taping notes to the front of the screen I got it back a few days later with nothing changed. I called them to see if I could get in communication with an actual technician. The lady (assistant manager of production) on the phone kept cutting me off and not letting me tell her what was going on. At one point she giggled and said "this is funny" while I explained my super long ordeal, she eventually hung up on me.
