I ran into an ad for this company called Auction Road. They appeared to be a company that sold products at wholesale prices to it's members. When I called, that's exactly how the guy on the phone explained the program to me. I sell the products on ebay or wherever and then pay Auction Road wholesale price and they take care of shipping the item to the buyer. It was my understanding that they were affiliated with ebay.
The guy on the phone discussed the fees with me stating that it would be 9.95 a month for a membership. I asked him specifically "How much will my credit card be billed today?". He said "It's 9.95 a month and you can cancel anytime in the 1st 30 days". So, I decided that at the risk of only losing 9.95, it would be worth at least trying.
They then charged my card $89.00, so I tried to call and cancel, but it was impossible to get through, so I followed the cancellation instructions, sending written request for cancellation, and they have continued to take 89.00 out of my account every month.in addition, Wells Frago Bank told me they would reverse the charge, and they did not, so now this scam company continues to take my money and my bank is not protecting me against it. I finally have cancelled my card, but much damage has already been done.
