Chris Aufang, owner/Director of Operations, hired me to take trouble calls on computer equipment. I worked for him for two weeks and my first payday was to be on October 29. When I called to pick up my check, he claimed that he had not had time to do the checks. He told me that I could pick it up after 3 pm on Saturday. Then he called and said that we would have a meeting and I could get it then. After I got out of my Server 2008 class I called him to meet. He said he was at a customer site and that he would bring my my check that evening when he came down to Miami. He never showed up. Sunday morning he called and said that his wife was in the hospital but no offer for me to get my check. Monday he emailed me that he had my check and that he would call me at 9 am. No call. I called him 4 times during the day and he kept saying that he would call me back in 10-15 minutes but no call. Monday evening he would not answer his phone. Tuesday morning a customer whose multifunction printer I was working on called me to tell me that the part would be there by 10:30am. I said that I didn't know if I could make it because I had no money for gas. I called Chris and he told me that he was now in Jacksonville, FL because his mother had died but he had my check. He wanted me to give him my bank account number and he would transfer the money to it.By this point, I did not trust him so I wouldn't give him my account information. He claimed that he would overnight it to me. I felt an obligation to the customer so I decided that I would take a chance that he would pay me so I started out to the customer site. At this point Chris called me and fired me because I wasn't going to take any more calls without being paid. I still have not been paid.
