Allegro Medical (aka Allegromedical.com) is the worst online medical supplies company I have ever dealt with!
I placed an order with them in August, and was expecting my product within a week. Two weeks passed and I had not received an email from them regarding shipping, nor had my product shown up. I called their "customer service" staff, which was a total waste of time.
The first rep I got on the phone was completely unhelpful and unapologetic. I was told that the order I had placed had never made it to the warehouse. However, they had absolutely no problem charging my card the day after the order was placed.
The only offer of assistance I got from this "customer service rep" was that she would go ahead and send the order off to their warehouse. No thanks. I told her to cancel it, because on their website, it was stated the product was IN STOCK, and would be shipped from their facility in 1-2 Business days. I did not wish to wait another two weeks for this item, if they actually decided to ship it this time. (This was a wound care item needed for a surgical wound, which had to be ordered from another company)
The same day I cancelled my order, I got on their website and sent them an email to their "refund dept" email address. The email stated that I was unhappy with their services, and that I wanted to be sure I would receive a refund for this product that they never shipped to me. I got a confirmation that my email was received by them, and that I would get a response in 1-2 business days. I never did.
After waiting 5 business days for my refund (on their website it states all refunds will be returned within 3-5 business days), I had to call back to deal with more unhelpful customer service reps. Now I was being told that it takes 10 business days to get a refund. After asking for a supervisor, I was refused... Several times. I have never had a company rep refuse to transfer me to a supervisor.
I was (not so politely) told that the supervisor was busy, and she would tell me the same thing. I got the run-around about how payments are processed immediately, but refunds have to go through a "special" dept for approval. Still no refund.
Now, after reading other reports on this company, I am bracing myself for not getting a refund (the final price was well over $100, plus shipping). I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, since they are so proud of being a BBB customer (they have the BBB logo on their main page). I don't know if it will do any good, but I am so tired of companies treating customers like the enemy!!!
It was really disappointing the way this company handles their customers. It's not like I was purchasing a book, or a piece of furniture. This was an urgently needed medical supply for a surgical wound, but Allegro Medical's customer service people couldn't have cared less! Not to mention, in these times, $100 is quite a lot of money to lose! I will not do business with them again.
