The computer I purchased from hp has died due to a design flaw. HP refuses to fix the problem without charging me hundreds of dollars.
I bought a laptop from hp expecting it to last through college. This laptop along with many others in the pavillion line has a design defect in the motherboard. The defect lies in a chipset malfunctioning due to poor heatsinking. This defect causes the integrated video and wireless card to stop working. I have encountered the problem before on 6-15-08 and HP "fixed" the problem free of charge. It seems that what they did was replace the parts rather than adress the issue. This time HP tells me that I must pay $325 for them to fix the problem again. This is a widespread problem that HP has not acted on for some time. Below is a list of other people who have had the same issue and are having the same problem getting HP to fix it as well as reports about the problem.

I would like HP to either:
Make a permanent repair on my laptop at no charge or,
Continue repairing this specific issue every time it happens at no charge or,
Replace my laptop with one of equal value or similar specs which does not suffer from this design flaw or,
Refund the purchase price so I may buy a more reliable laptop myself.
