Hewlett Packard has knowingly sold faulty laptop computers to its consumers in the last few years. They have "kindly" offered "enhanced warranty's" on certain models with the defect, but not all. Unfortunately, mine, which is an HP Pavilion dv9740, is not included on that list but does have the defect.
I purchased my laptop on January 29.in December my motherboard suffered failure due to an overheating issue caused by the video driver. HP repaired my laptop at no cost to me since it was under warranty. I was granted another 90 days warranty. Sadly, my laptop started to overheat again not too long after the "extended" 90 days expired. Needless to say, my laptop has suffered the same fate just this month. On March 14, my motherboard stopped functioning.
I have contacted Hewlett Packard several times to attempt getting it repaired at no charge, however, at this time they are unwilling to repair my laptop unless I pay for it.
