I bought a laptop / HP dv6 HP pavillion on May 10. At that time I was unaware of a problem with the hinges in most of the HP laptop models. I also was unaware that HP was aware and there was a deadline of May 31 to have this problem fixed at no charge. I was content with my laptop until long after this deadline and then in the last month the hinges of my computer started to pertrude through the plastis casing and the screen is wobbly. I went online to see if there was something I could do about this when I found numerous complaints about the same problem. Most conversations claimed that HP refused to fix the problem because it was not part of the warranty. As far as I'm concerned, HP sold me a defective product that they had no intention of repairing when the problem reared its head. The problem wasn't fixed even with the new sales. This is unethical and immoral. I called HP and spent half an hr on the phone (mostly on hold) but the inevitable answer was the bottom line. They would fix it for $300. Or send me the part for $78. They felt no responsibility at all for the flawed design. I will never never never buy an HP product again.
