They provide "Internet service via satellite". That is the only honest thing anyone from Hughes Net will ever say. Everything else is a lie. 5 days ago I upgraded my service because a Huges Net CSR said that my wife and I were exceeding our alloted bandwidth and that was why our Internet was so slow every evening. I agreed to pay the additional $20.00 per month to double my bandwidth allowance. It didn't help. I called back and talked to one of the "out-sourced" technicians who informed me that my service was slow because so many people were on line! No one else pays my bill. Why am I at the mercy of anyone else? Hughes Net is basically a big party line Internet service. So if you need to get on-line for important information, like if there is a natural disaster and you would like information, you're screwed because everyone else is going to try to get on the web also. The equipment is way way over priced.installation is not free. And to top it all off, they are a company who out-sources jobs overseas. Nuf said.
