Hughes Net satellite service is definately a last resort!
I am unable to get cable high speed internet here, so I called hughes Net service. Everything went well although expensive, to line up installation. Then the day came, I did 80% of the work (under house and in attic line work), while the tech walked around my yard and talked on his cell phone. Then the service worked about as fast as dial up for 2 days. I called the installers and hughes net, no help. So I canceled the service after 5 days. You have to cancel within 30 days to get a refund on the equipment. Long story, Even if you return the equipment, you have to pay to ship it back to Factory, and pay $340.00.
After they get it back and determine that it is like new, they promise a refund check for $200.in 6-8 weeks.
My equipment was 3 days old, expertly packed and sent fedex to the factory at a cost of $34.00.8 weeks has passed and no refund.
Several calls to customer service, I have been told 3 times that the check has been issued and mailed. So far it has taken 2 weeks to receive it.
So, If you are going to use Hughes net, I wish you the best. They cost me over $100. Per day of dial up speed service. And I'm not sure what country the billing agents are from but it is very hard to understand their english.
