Tried to cancel a trial subscription and they ignored all communications and charged me

I was looking for an internet fax service & signed up for 30 day trial subscriptions with a couple of companies. Some were better than others but SmartFax didn't seem to work out and I emailed them according to the email link on its website. I got absolutely NO response, where as the other companies did respond. I went back to their website trying to find a way to directly cancel the trial membership and could find none. Again I emailed and no response. After sending several emails, I moved on assuming that this had been handled, although I received no response from SmartFax. I signed up as a customer with a different service and then I get a charge from SmartFax for using their service. I had never used the service, sent emails requesting a cancellation and no matter what you do they don't respond or acknowledge customers in any way.

After being charged, I emailed several times and got no response again so I called. I ended up having to call 3 times before someone finally said that the account would be canceled and my money would be refunded. I received no confirmation about this transaction and NEVER was refunded the fee I shouldn't have been charged in the first place. I sent many emails asking about this and as usual they didn't respond. I called the company today and tried to get someone in billing. I was on hold for almost 30 minutes listening to a recording telling me that I was first in line. No one EVER responded. I called back and pressed the key for customer service where I finally reached a rude, insolent, condescending rep. He put me on hold with loud punk music saying that he had to speak to his supervisor. After 15 minutes of this abusive music he comes back and says there is no record of a request for money being refunded and the emails only auto-respond, however there has been ONE auto-response and that was after initially signing up. This rep ended up being nasty and hanging up. This company is a total rip-off, with more than questionable business standards. They don't provide any customer service, they lie, change the rules in the middle of the game and NO ONE should EVER do business with them because they will rip you off and never respond to your complaints.
