I used the company to recieve two faxes, and then cancelled the service on August 3rd, '08 with an email written as per their websites instructions.
On August 30th, I recieved a bill for $15.90, with a list of itemized deductions. One for their "Pro" service, which I never subscribed to, and a service charge of $2.00. The billing cycle was listed as from August 14th to the 30th.
I called today, August 30th, and was told that my account is now cancelled, and that the rep would follow up with billing regarding my issue.
I am going to re-send my cancellation email, and attach the one with the August 3rd date for proof of previous cancellation. I will also tell them that I am writing a report on usacomplaints.com, and will file a complaint with the BBB if the matter is not resolved.
I looked SmartFax up on the Better Business Bureau and they have three companies listed under Smartfax, with a total of 21 complaints since '07.
I will keep this file updated as the matter progresses.
