Went to their website to look up a number. Price was 4.95, a one-time fee. Used my check card to pay. Noticed a few months later a charge for a service called familycreditreport. Called and talked to someone at familycreditreport.com and asked why i was being charged for a service that i never received. The customer service guy didn't even know what services they offered. After asking some more questions, this number i called was a customer service agency for several companies. They would only remove one month of fees. Wanted letters in writing to get rid of the previous 5 months.
After some research, I found that Intelius was where the charges were initiated. I have tried calling them only to be put on hold for 20 minutes and got hung-up on. Emailed them, two weeks later, they responded by saying they don't have monthly charges. I can get nowhere with them.
I went to the bank and filed a fraud report against Intelius. The charges have stopped and my bank reimbursed me. I will file a report with the BBB.
