After reeling from the sudden increase in the Verizon phone bill which arrived yesterday, I pursued the information provided for Billing fo ESBI on page 4 of the 6-page bill.
Googling ESBI was an immediate indication of trouble, SCAM looming large on the site; Googling Residential Email produced the same result. If there are indeed two companies, the service provided by the latter is billed by the former.
I called Residential Email immediately.in additiion to the agent's insisting I or someone else had signed up for the service, she tried to explain about the points that would accrue and enable me to purchase items from their store. Whoa! She recognized I was having none of her pitch and said she could revoke the billing. Doing so would take 7-10 days and would show up on the next billing cycle.
At her request I did provide my name and address but withheld my email address.
