ESBI Residential Mail
Phone Scam

My March Verizon phone bill arrived with an added third party charge. That party was ESBI charging me for online coupons for a price of $15.85. I called the number given regarding the charge, found out what it was about, and immediately canceled the charge which ESBI indicated was incurred by a stranger I had no knowledge of. I received an email back from Residential Email confirming that the charge was canceled.

I then called Verizon and explained the situation. Verizon was very helpful with the matter and indicated they would issue a credit to my bill to cancel this scam charge from my phone bill. Verizon also indicated that I would have to cancel the charge with the third party myself, which was done. Verizon also explained that they could block any further third party charges in case something like this happens in the future.

I am completely satisfied with the response from Verizon and I have a confirmed email from Residential Email canceling the charge. Question your phone charges all the time because scams like this do happen. I have also sent a report to my local state Attorney General to inform them of this scam.
