Ripoff deceptive company screwed others too ripped off and scammed waste of time thieves swindlers

You bought the propaganda and the long since past good reputation of name of Dell, sent in your money. Now you find you, your trust and your money have been ripped off and are stuck with a very expensive paperweight. Welcome to Dell Hell friend.

First the bad news, you have better odds of winning the lottery then you getting the lemon replaced with the new working computer you ordered. Oh you say its brand new, you have a warrantee and a service contract! Well most everyone that bought Dell also bought service contracts, and all had warrantees, but you go on ahead and try to get Dell to honor them, however if you have access to a working computer do yourself a favor bookmark this page, you will be returning.

Hard working people believe that it is their responsibility to make sure the check doesn't bounce and in return Dells to deliver the promised product instead in groves they are receiving lemons and insults. It will help to understand that the reason Dell is now Number 1 and remains such has nothing to do with corporate integrity, they have none. It is because like Gateway and Compaq and Packard Bell before them in the long ago past they build decent computers sold them for a fair price, then took over the #1 spot when the leader of the day had screwed so many people no one would buy from them anymore, when it was their turn Dell stopped making good computers and with total disregard started ripping off as many people they could, and are filling their coffers as full they can before people stop buying from them too. Simply put, they don't care!

Sadly the truth is nothing official is going to help much in getting what you were promised, however all is not lost. There are ways to deal with companies like Dell granted it won't do you any good directly but will save others from going through what you have.

Though on the surface a seemingly small thing, one of the simplest, fastest and far reaching ways to deal with the likes of Dell is to send a letter to everyone on your daily email list outlining the hoops the you have been forced to jump through, along with all correspondence you have received from Dells Tech supposed support staff, and ask them to toward it to anyone and everyone they know who is, or at some point in the future would be, considering, buying from Michael Dell, also if it was on a Microsoft page you found this wonderful deal you can add the name Bill Gates and, Microsoft to your correspondence. Lastly add a signature to your email (you only have to set it up once after that it will automatically be attached to the bottom of all your mail) that says: Thinking of buying Dell? Dont! Dell's Hell, Buyer Beware! Or whatever best expresses your dissatisfaction with Dell and its products.in so doing you will accomplish what all those many, many, many, many wasted hours with Dell could not, your disapproval and disappointment will be noted and quietly spread throughout wider and wider circles. Never know how many of Dells (present and potential) stockholders and Corporate accounts will end up receiving emails with your signature as the circle widens. It would be of great service to others if you also added a link to this webpage or a similar page of your choosing.

Think your problem is unique? Dell techs repeatedly demand, not ask, the normal customer to do what was Dell's quality control departments responsibility to do when your check cleared and before the computer was actually shipped. That being to make sure it actually worked! Read the complaints posted here they represent but a fraction of those that going through what you are.

The second thing you can do, this one takes a little, but not much, more effort on your part - dont simply post on these boards - file complains with your states Attorney Generals Office. Here again it may not get your problem fixed - at this point I am not sure anything will get you that - but at least your complain will be officially recorded. The primary reason for your need to do this however has nothing to do with expectation of remedy, but that there exist some question that this running theme of reformatting, reinstalling software, oh your hard drive is bad, flash the bios, it's your motherboard and wait and wait and wait etc (sound familiar) may serve another entirely different purpose, that being to push you past the 30 day period you had to get your money refunded!

No real tech is going make you do such things - nor should you have too. You see Dell farms out its Support to those very same people who use to call up and interrupt your dinner to see if you wanted to buy siding for your home or have your picture taken. And they see no reason to lose big fat contracts with Dell over something as minor as their gross incompetence. However discovering if reasonable doubt exist that such in is fact the case, is the job of your States Attorney General. File complains there.

Good Luck friend, feel free to contact me on this site if you have questions or comments.

PS: There is of course a very simple solution Dell could put into place that would eliminate almost all future problems return to doing 72 hour burn ins! For those of you that dont know what that is, in the past computer manufactures did what was known as a 72 hour burn in on all their computers. Essentially what that means is for 72 hours they ran the computer through a non-stop series of test to ensure all the hard earned money you just spent on their product was in good working order. If a component is going to fail it will typically do so in the first 72 hours. As we now know this practice has since been replaced by service contracts, in the case of Dell, the only purpose of which is to provide you paper so that you actually get some use out of your new Dell paperweight.
