Another Ripoff from AOL 2 months in a Row! Ripoff business from hell Nationwide

After moving to a new state a few months ago, we installed the AOL free CD just to get an internet connection. Where we live it's impossible to get DSL and we either can get satellite or dial-up and that's it. So begins our troubles w/AO-Hell. AFter our initial trial period my husband called to cancel, we found a local ISP and didn't need it. The woman offered 2 free months to try out some other features we dind't try etc etc... So my hubby said OK.

We'll leave it up for now and use it to play around on too. Wouldn't you know that first month we got billed? It wasn't just the $28 but an additional $5 since they took it out through our checking acct. We called, complained, and they reversed the charges, this time. We were told it was not logged into the system to receive any free time and that was the mistake. This guy extended it to 3 free months for our troubles and said he logged it in and apologized.

We waited about a week, this time I called to cancel. It got cancelled. But come the end of that month, I sure did have another bill from AOL taken out of my account. I called them back up and pitched a fit with them. This time they claim to have no record of any additional funds being taken out of our account. I have a copy of the bank print out showing it was withdrawn and someone was supposed to call me back to speak to me about it. It's been over a month. No one calls, I get the run-around when I call and I'm out the buck$. It's never been settled because according to THEIR records, I wasn't billed, however my bank shows otherwise.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER again will I use AOL and I will persuade as many people as I can to not use them. I've heard enough by now to know they do lousy business practices and will never give my money away to them again.
