I ordered beautiful china made by Lenox on December 31 from PlaceSettings. I immediately received confirmation of my order (#29979) via e-mail from the company and my credit card was charged $618.80 the very same day!
In March of I e-mailed the company and received an "apology" saying an inquiry was being sent to the warehouse for "shipping status" and a response may take up to 1-2 business days. I heard nothing and e-mailed them again on April 3. I received no response.in mid-April I began calling the customer service number I located on the website. I left messages repeatedly on their answering machine—no live person ever answered the phone. I never received a phone call back and I emailed them again on April 15.
On April 16 I received an e-mail again apologizing for the delay and that the items were on backorder in their warehouse for approximately 3-4 more weeks and that I would get an e-mail with UPS tracking infomatoon once the order was shipped. I, of course, never heard another word from them. I tried to e-mail again in July only to have my e-mails returned as an invalid address. The website has also been removed.
