Late January I bought a HP Compaq6820s from ShopNBC. It worked only past the 30 days you can return items to this company so they expressed no concern that one of their vendors was ripping consumers off.
I contacted HP by e-mail multi times and dispite telling them that I was unable to get s video picture they kept sending me a "standard" reply which started with turn your computer on.
I took the unit to a local shop who charged me $81.00 and told me the mother board is bad. This time I called HP hoping this report would move them to act. They asked me for the unit serial number which I looked up on the unit and they disputed that it was their computer and told me they couldn't even authorize picking the unit up.
They told me to take it to an authorized service center which in our case was Best Buy. Best B. Charged us $85.00 to ship the unit to their service center.
The center sent the unit back claiming it was a commercial unit and that they are not authorized to repair it.
I'm now stuck with a $1200.00 paper weight from a company that Consumer Report just rated as the worst for customer service. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
