Renewed my gold membership to Classmates on Mar. 17th on Mar. 24th Shopping Essentials charged my debit card 19.95. I didn't notice the charge until they charged me again on Apr. 20th. I Googled Shopping Essentials and up popped consumer complaints. The more I read the madder I got. I contacted my bank, they removed the Apr. 20th charge and filed a complaint about the Mar. 24th charge.
I called Shopping Essentials this morning and they said that they would remove the Apr. 20th charge but would not refund me for the Mar. 24th charge since I did not cancel in the alloted 7 day period. I told them that my bank was coming after them for it and that I was filing a complaint against them and Classmates. Went to Classmates, told them that I thot. That their practices were dubious and that I would not be doing business with them again. The bank told me never to use my debit card to order anything, always use a credit card, it's easier to recover transactions on credit cards.
