I signed up for the Gold Membership at Classmates.com. When doing so you get an offer for some free "shopping essentials" deal, It gives you little information and sounds like something that you could use. When you click for more info many of us get signed up right away. (Funny thing is it says free but there is a charge!) As soon as I saw it was all junk I closed the window. Only later did I find the charge. I contacted SE and they said a refund in 48 hours. 48 hours later and email says 1-2 billing cycles.
Now Classmates is even worse and takes no responsibility claiming I signed up for it and received emails confirming such (I never received anything from SE). Classmates is the portal and has this scam set up and won't fix it. And once again is un apologetic blaming YOU.
Be real careful! I'm super wary and this is the first time I got stung. It is so slick you won't see it coming! There is no way to avoid other than do not do business with classmates!
Since It's not everyone who gets nailed for this I suggest it's some sort of random scheme which makes it more criminal IMO.
Shameful!
