I signed up for the Classmates.com Gold in April of and suddenly there's a charge from Shopping Essential charged my card 19.95 on my April statement. I did not click on any banners or sign up for any kind of membership with this company, nor did I ever receive any info on my memership. I never signed up for their services or authorized them to charge my card.
I got my credit card company to dispute this charge and they credited it back to my card, but then the May statement came, and Shopping Essentials did it again.
After several calls, I was able to "cancel my membership" with Shopping Essentials, but to get the money back I've had to go to my credit card company again to dispute the charge.
I've since cancelled my membership with Classmates.com also. I don't want to do business with anyone who promotes, or allows another company to do this sort of thing with their members. It's a very sleazy way to do business.
