I bought a refurbished laptop because my college-bound daughter needs XP rather than Vista. The computer was damaged in shipment & a new hard drive was installed (at no charge, because the 90 day warranty was in effect). However, there was no recovery CD enclosed in the packaging, so the repair facility was unable to reinstall the operating system.
After 4 phone calls, I was directed to the warranty department to correct their "out of warranty" error. I was assured that the warranty was recorded as good until 10/30/07. But the people at the support center will only SELL me a CD, because the warranty correction is not "in their computers."
After 4 more calls, I was transferred to customer service, where I waited on hold for a total of 87 minutes with no response. A total of 6 different case numbers have been assigned, & no one will even attempt to resolve this issue.
In the interim, my daughter will leave for college in 9 days with a totally useless computer.
