Now: June. For the third month now, OAN Services (a WebPage service) has charged me for their services of which I did not subscribe. This has been attached to my phone bill.

When I first called about the problem (3/07), they assured me it would be taken care of. Second month (4/07), they assured me once again it would be taken care of, stating the first call I made was not entered to be processed. Now the third month (5/07), upon my calling, I asked to speak with a supervisor/manager/anyone superior to the woman answering my call. She stated that she had no one to turn my call over to, nor did she have a phone number to reach anyone. I mentioned that I hoped they had no problems, ex: fire, since there was no way to reach anyone in command!

I once again explained my problem of false charges to my phone bill. They had the name of someone (they gave me her name) in my town which I explained once again it was my phone number but not my name or address.
I once again was given excuses for how the problem occured, they claimed that the account was cancelled, but my refund had not been entered yet. If the account was now cancelled, how then was I charged for a third month?

As my questions progressed I noticed a faint voice in the background, hearing that the 'operator' was being told every sentence to say to me. Finally I kindly explained that this was my third attempt to have this problem fixed. I mentioned I noticed their bad reputation on the internet, I also noted that since they were billing me, using someone elses name, I felt this was fraud. I also mentioned that since this was the third charge, If this occured again I would contact the BBB. I also informed them that I expected a refund ($25.29), since I had to pay these charges or I would be in bad standing with my phone company. I was asked if I wanted a supervisor to call to verify that the problem was cleared up. I stated no, I wanted a written letter along with my refund.

As I closed the conversation with the 'operator', I thanked her kindly, and asked her to also thank the woman standing behind her, telling her everything to tell me... With that there was complete silence! I said thank you again, to which the 'operator' was once again prompted by the mysterious voice to 'say thank you'!!!

I then promtly called my phone company/Verizon, which I wish I did in the first place. They were able to block any/all future charges by ANYONE unless verification was given by me personally! They even took off the third months charge since I had not yet sent it in! How wonderful!

So I am almost excited to see my June phone bill, to see if I get to make another call, or... HA! I get refunded my $16.86. It's not about the small amount of money at this point, it has just turned into my crusade! It's great to have a website to vent, isn't it???
