Real Web Host
Treats customers like crap, yells at them, lies to them, and refuses to accept blame

Real Web Host is offers domain hosting services for websites, as well as domain registration. Joey Moses is the owner.

I have had my website hosted with him for several years. It frequently goes offline, I am unable to access my e-mail account through them, and they have a very difficult time keeping track of their billing records.

Whenever there was a problem, I would call Joey and he immediately acted as if I was wasting his time. Most of my calls were when my site was completely offline. His website offers a 99.5% uptime guarantee, but this is far from true, and he never honors this guarantee with an apology or refund.

My account is automatically paid through credit card. That's how his system is set-up. He only accepts automatic billing.

In the past, he had my Visa card on file. This was routed to my bank.in fall I switched to a new bank, and that was on a Mastercard. I submitted this new information through Joey's system.

On January 1, his system tried to pull a payment from the old Visa card. The transaction failed (of course). I received an e-mail about it and promptly replied on New Year's Day.

I explained that I had given him the Mastercard number, but he needed me to re-enter it online. So I did and the transaction cleared on January 2nd.

I e-mailed Joey to confirm that all future payments would be deducted from the Mastercard and he replied back confirming they would.

On April 8 (Easter, of all days) my website was taken offline and replaced with a huge message saying my account was suspended. I could not access my e-mail or even my control panel. It was completely blocked.

I contacted Joey and he started off yelling at me at the top of his lungs. He told me I owed him money and claimed he'd been trying to reach me for over a month to get my payment.

I had not received one e-mail or phone call from him. My contact information is prominently displayed on my website. It's funny that nobody else has trouble reaching me, and yet none of his e-mails went through? Yeah, right.

I then asked him what card he was charging and he said the VISA! Can you believe it? THE VISA! The card I told him to delete in 2006 because I had closed that bank account. The card I switched over to Mastercard in 2006 and then gave him again on January 1st!

This guy is unbelievable. He went on and on yelling at me like I was some criminal who had tried to avoid paying him. I finally asked him if he always yells at his customers? That shut him up for a second.

All he had to do was use the Mastercard that I had saved in his system! This is clearly a system failure on his behalf. I am not responsible for his poor accounting skills!

To make matters worse, he claimed my domain name had expired and said I might have to pay a hefty fee to get it back. Out of panic, I went ahead and let him him renew it when I really wanted to renew it with someone else.

He told me he'd call me back in a few minutes. When he did, he told me exactly how much had been charged to my card. I wrote it down and told him "Alright". There was nothing but silence, so I ended the call.

He called me back and said "Did you just hang up on me?!". I told him I didn't hang up on him, I didn't hear anything else, so I thought our conversation had been over. He then HUNG UP ON ME! What a child!

I called him back and said "I DID NOT hang up on you. What else did you have to say?" He replied "Have a nice day!". Yeah, right. He ruined my Easter. How sarcastic to tell me to have a nice day.

After all this fighting, I got off the phone and did my research. I pulled old bank records to confirm that he had charged my Mastercard in January. I have the proof that he had my new bank information because he charged it!

I also looked up my domain name's registration. It was not set to expire until April 20th! So he lied when he said it was past due and he lied about this mysterious penalty fee too.

I wrote a very calm, professional e-mail to Joey noting the facts about my bank account and domain expiration. I asked for him to please explain why he had done all that yelling when it was clear he was the one at fault.

I told him to only reply if he would be civil about it, and noted that he should run his business with pride and dignity.

He did respond, but instead of apologizing and admitting that he'd made a mistake, he told me he wasn't going to "argue" about it and said it wasn't his responsibility. He also told me that if I report him to the BBB, I had better find a new host before May 1st because he's cancelling all my accounts.

WHOSE RESPONSIBILITY is it? The man can't keep track of payments, he has this so-called automated system that continues to try and charge closed credit cards, and he treats his customers like crap! He is always having technical problems, which makes my site go down. He never apologizes, he always has someone or something to blame.

Does he think he is GOD? Does he ever admit error?

I don't know how this man can claim to have a Satisfaction Guarantee on his site. HA! That's hilarious. I am not satisfied at all. Joey Moses is a pathetic excuse for a business man.

I have never, EVER been yelled at on the phone by anyone... Much less someone that I PAY to provide service.

I really feel bad for his other customers. I have clearly done everything in my power to keep my account is good standing. I have overlooked his clumsy service, I have overlooked his poor record keeping skills, and I have overlooked the fact that he is never friendly to me on the phone, and never even thanks me for being a customer.
