Charged my credit card $8,300! Ripoff

Itsol, Inc. A.K. A quotesauction.com made five charges to my credit card ($1,000/$1,100/$1,200/$2,000/$3,000) totaling $8,300. I was notified of this via email and I immediately responded to the charges in question via phone (left a message) and email. More then 24 hours later I received an email from the company (copied and pasted below).

Keep in mind that this company typically charges me $100-$200 per month on average. $8,300 charge was quite a surprise! I received this charge while I was vacationing in St. Kitts. This charge put my credit card over the limit and all transactions were denied after.

The acquisitions of me committing fraud to them is absolutely not true. I will be more then happy to provide you with anything you ask for. Thank you in advance for your help! Please help me resolve this situation.

Mr. Grant,

We have learned that you have discovered and took advantage of the temporary security breach in our leads delivery system and accessed leads in unauthorised maner, which basically amounts to stealing.

The attached report is clearly showing dates and times when the system was hacked, the IP addresses of the parties accessing the leads illegally, your insurance agent ID was used to gain access to leads, the number and types of leads stolen and the respective prices for each lead, as well as a total number of leads and dollar ammounts of stolen leads.

The report also shows that someone actually had written a script to hack system, because the frequensy with which leads where illegally accessed simply can not be accomplished manually. Our security personnel have discovered the breach at about 2:00 am February 21st, they have processed charges and emailed you confirmation, to which you have responded immediately, which confirms that you were at the computer and loged into our system at the time the illegal activity was taking place.

This activtiy violates not only our Term and Conditions Agreement, which provides for a number of civil remedies for such violations, its also constitute a criminal offence and calls for criminal procecution, should we chose to press charges.

So far, we have processed several charges your credit card in the total mmount $8,300.00 to recover the ammount due us for the leads and to cover legal cost associated with such a recovery, which may include filing law suite.

Our legal department is now looking into the course of actions and our attorney will contact you shortly with written communications advising you of forgoing course of actions, if any.in the mean time the ammount we charged will remain in our possession until the final settlment is reached.

Should you have any question or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Here is the email I responded with (below)

Please take a moment to view the link below: Hundreds of insurance brokers will see this, and it will show up when people google your company. (ROR REDACTED LINK FOR SECURITY PURPOSES)

Action I plan to take:

1. Call my card company and dispute the charges immediately.
2. I plan on filing a report with usacomplaints.com and others who deal with these things.
3. I plan to post my side of the story (everywhere possible), with assurances that I did not, and no one I know used a script during a security breach, to steal leads.

While the way your company has dealt with this is very upsetting to me, I would like to extend an opportunity for you to make this right with a refund and a written apology.

Regards,

Grant

And here is there response (below)

Mr. Grant,

You have committed a criminal offence and got cought, basically with your hands in our pocket. Your continued attemps to slander our good name is making the matter worth for you. We are convinced that we have charged your account in accordance with our Terms of Use Agreement, where you agreed to pay for the leads you received, and you did received them - stolen or not, doesn't matter.

If you believe otherwise you are free to take-up this matter with courts. Certainly, you can try to dispute charges, however, we doubt you will succeed. If you will though, we will take this to courts, only we will not stop there. We will report you to FBI, to the Department of Insurance and your insurance company, with barrage of charges from criminal to civil.

By the way, your posting on insurance forum is already deleted, because their administration is also believe you commistted a crime and now attempting to slander our name.

Should you have any question or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
