I purchased hosting from Barak Hosting / Barak Holdings, Inc.in September in the amount of $539.40 for 12 months plus free setup. I received a receipt from them stating this.
In December I learned that my website was not even on their server and I had been paying for services I was not receiving. When I contacted the president Marc Burofsky, he told me ship him the CDs which had my website on them and e-mail him all my passwords so he could change the DNS and point them to my website, and that he would upload my website at no charge for set up (just like the receipt states).
After receiving my CDs and getting all of my passwords, which gave them access to hundreds of domain names and extremely confidential business account information, I was then told that if I wanted my website set up on their server I would need to pay them an additional $700 to the $539.40 we had already paid.
This "$700.00" (free set up charge) was quoted the following: cost for loading my website $146.25, name server changes $48.75, time allowed for any corrections than MIGHT need to be made IN CASE there were any file issues $195.00, (in other words, I need to pay them ahead of time for something that doesnt exist) $130.00 to set up FTP access, and then $180.00 for "Project Management" (what is this? Someone to oversee the worker bees to make sure they know how to do their job???)
I have e-mails from the president of Barak Hosting, Marc Burofsky, stating that my set up was included in my hosting package and a receipt from the company stating the same thing. So, where does the "free set up fee" of $700.00 come in? When I refused to pay for something I have already paid for I asked for a refund for the hosting charges of $539.40 of services which were NOT rendered, they refused.
No where is it stated on my receipt that I cannot cancel my service or receive a refund - and at the time of purchase NO WHERE on their website was there a "terms of service or a return/refund" policy.
This company is committing fraud by charging me for services I cannot and have not used unless I pay them an additional $700 for my "free" set up, which I have already paid for.
And this man, the BIG CEO, Marc Burofsky is abusive and a NASTY PIG to deal with. He has some serious disturbing issues and absolutely NO integrity. Read his websites mission statement... Www.barakhosting.com its full of garbage claiming how they care about each customer as if it were a family member. It's quite sickening, besides being a flat out lie and a joke.
I have about fifteen e-mails from this lying thief, which clearly shows intent to try and SCREW me out of more money as well as THREATEN me and DEMAND that I "GOVERN MYSELF ACCORDINGLY! This man needs to be behind bars.
