Big Well-known Corporate Anti-Virus Software Company Screws Me to the Wall ripoff

November 6
Monday

I originally purchased a Dell computer system and with it, so-called Norton a/k/a Symantec anti-virus software in 2003. On-line in 2004 and I upgraded to Norton a/k/a Symantec Internet Security Professional software.

In I on-line partially downgraded to Norton a/k/a Symantec System Works 2006. However, in the course of the downgrade, I ended up doing the upload twice because of the misleading nature of the on-line advertisments that led me to believe I was downloading the Norton Internet Security Professional software again at a lower price. I therefore inadvertently paid twice. However, even that apparently did not suffice, and I still had to download an additional software from Norton about 30 days later. I ended up paying a grand total of $256 dollars for several downloads of several distinct and different softwares from Norton a/k/a Symantec.

When I sought to get help on line, I got conventional "boilerplate" (i.E., repetitive text) emails, equivalent, that is, to "form letters, " from the so-called "support" personnel located, apparently, in the country of India.

Additionally, the software did not work properly. Every time I upgraded (and I upgraded faithfully, as one is supposed to do; I am not a novice at computers, and I have worked with them since 1973, and know what you're supposed to do in terms of preventive maintenance, and I do it faithfully and loyally and accurately and meticulously and perpetually), I constantly got an error message

Furthermore, when I sought to find out about getting refunds, I was informed that beyond a certain point, I could get no money back.

Then, to add injury to insult, about 3 or 4 weeks ago, my entire computer Windows XP Professional desktop went down, and I could not get the Windows XP Desktop up. I finally discovered a local computer repair company who successfully got my Windows XP Professional software up. But they also informed me they had experience of the same kind with thousands of other customers who had had similar things happen to them with the use of Norton a/k/a Symantec software, and that this particularly seemed to be happening since Norton bought up Symantec. They recommended a different anti-virus software and I authorized it, and they suggested removal of all Norton a/k/a Symantec software and I authorized that.

But, they also informed me, any efforts I made to get money back from Norton a/k/a Symantec would probably come to nought.

In my view, Norton a/k/a Symantec spends its money putting out fancy marketing and advertisements on television for its corporation, and after my computer crashed, and finally I spent another $200 bucks to get it working again, they had the outrageous gall to email me more marketing for their software.

I emailed them back saying I would never again use their products again, and I won't. I further informed them I intend to tell everyone about how I was treated.

Norton a/k/a Symantec are, in my view, corrupt liars who literally slug in the face customers who have been loyal to them over several years, and when said customers spend exorbitant amounts of money on Norton a/k/a Symantec's rotten, shoddy, non-working products that actually cause computers to crash rather than "protecting" cmputers, these corporate scum inform their subordinates to concentrate on informing customers of the limitations on whether customers can even get refunds back, and even what customers can get back.

I publicly urge customers not to use Norton a/k/a Symantec so-called "anti-virus" and so-called computer "protecting" software, because if you do, their products will crash your systems, and not only that, but they will slug you in the face, refuse to refund monies owed you, and laugh all the way to the bank figuring that since they are some kind of corporate monopoly in the business of producing so-called computer "protective" software, they can get away with doing precisely this.

Good luck to those of you who still use their crappy software. My heart goes out to you.
