Bought a New Gateway computer at Best Buy and after a several days explorer would only open certain sites, the others would crash back to the deaktop. Never could access all the internet sites. Phoned the Geek Squad who I paid to install and set up the programs. Plus I purchased a 300 dollar warranty. It appears Explorer was pre-installed by the factory.
When I brought the computer back just to ask why this was happening the answer was we do not warranty any sofware. I know that, but it was sold to me not working from the start. Now, they said they would check the hard Drive and if was ok we will charge you. Then you have to check the software out yourself or send the computer back to the factory. (14 days new)
Can you imagine I bought a new computer and the Geek Squad who I paid to install some other software could not just look and open the site and say here is the problem a setting on the software. No way...
I e-mailed Best Buy and explained what had happened and I was sold an computer that did not work and it should be fixed by them and it should not cost me anything. I e-mailed twice, the answer I received was this.
We Received your e-mail the thank yo, if we can be of any further assistance contact us. On the bottom of the e-mail was advertising for me to buy more products... I have heard nothing since, so that's how Best Buy deals with there customers after you by a new computer.
The geek squad person was also rude like we were dumb. (Maybe we are with some comupter problems) We asked to see his supervisor and he smiled and said, I'm the senior supervisor, and I just told you we won't do nothing for you unless you agree to pay for checking the hard drive. (for a price) He may think we are dumb, sure, my wife is a Doctor and I'm a Auditor for a 650,000 member union in Canada and the USA. Baaa.
