Only one month after I began using my $1,700 V2 Premeir laptop, which I ordered from Shop at Home, these huge black spots developed all over the screen. Now its difficult to point the mouse and see websites as a huge portion of the monitor is hidden under the dark spots.!
Viscom is flatly refusing to help in any way saying that the problem is merely cosmetic. I only asked for a new monitor as I dont wish to loose data, but they came up with that lame excuse. I requested Shop NBC call on my behalf, requesting a new screen and monitor but Viscom responded that I would need to pay for repairs myself. Dont forget the manufacturers warranty was still in effect at this time. It simply states, in writing, one year warranty parts and labor. Jim Peterson also guaranteed the same warranty numerous times on the T.V. Broadcast advertisemnt for the laptop. No where was the word "limited " warranty even mentioned, I feel that S.A.H. Is responsable to consumers because of Truth in Advertising laws. Now that all of my warranties have expired I am requesting a charge back or Recharge as S.A.H. Refers to it, on my credit card. I dont know what the outcome will be.
I havent yet put any moneys towards the laptop as it was purchased on a one year defferred promotion (its due today). If anyone can advise me about my rights on this charge back issue it would be nice. I have been involved in three or four class action law suits, all of which amounted to less than a five dollar judgement awarded to me. People usually assume that they will be totally reimbursed for their losses in class action law suits, when in reality the majority of funds in such cases are awarded to the attorney ""groups" for their personal fees and services. Nevertheless I feel these attorneys act as "watch dogs" for the little guy, in some capacity. Im requesting that any attorneys assigned to Viscom and or. S.A.H. Will require them to pay full restitution to all customers named before they collect their attorneys fees. As of now I have a junky broken laptop, and I owe almost two thousand dollars on it. Im afraid they will ruin my excellent credit if I am denied the charge back. I dont want to pay for garbage, however if they woud have honored their warranty, I would have paid. Attorneys can contact me personally if possble.
