Upon receiving my last Southern Bell telephone bill, I
Noticed that I had extra charges. One from a company called SurfSafe Internet and the other from Residential Email LLC.
I have never heard of either company much less subscribed to their services. I reached Residential Email and cancelled their service. It's too early to tell if I will receive a refund. I haven't been able to get a hold of SurfSafe yet.
I did write to Bell South and told them that they had
violated my trust by billing me without confirming if I had approved these new services. I believe Bell South should be first in line to claim responsibility. They should never be able to add a third party billing to our statements unless we give them permission.
