DOES NOT COMPLY WITH THEIR WARRANTYS, and I was laughed at, and hung up on twice after an over 5 hour conversation Georgia

I purchased a laptop with a 3 year warranty from IBM. With 1/2 year left on my warranty I sent my laptop in for repair. (HUGE SYSTEM ERROR RESULTING IN DISASTEROUS CRASHES)

IBM took it in and "repaired it" ("Replaced the Mother board") almost immediately, or so I thought.

Unfortunately I was still dealing with the same type of crash. No more than a month later.

SO! Another trip to IBM. And again, another mother board. Now if anyone knows anything about computers, two mother boards in less than a year is certainly UNCALLED FOR! Computers last, I'd say, on the average of 5-10 years. NOT 10 WEEKS!!!

After receiving the laptop I realized it was time for an upgrade, and purchased a new laptop, while my Thinkpad sat back and watched for a few months.

When I went to retrieve something I needed from my Thinkpad, guess what? Same system crash. Same problem.

Well. The warranty had since expired, but my use of the laptop certainly did not justify it to produce a motherboard failure in less than a years time, after the mother board had been replaced TWICE IN LESS THAN 6 months.

Finally today I decided to see what I could do to get this thing fixed. Even if it meant paying out of pocket it for it.

Let me tell you a little something about IBM. I have never, I MEAN NEVER! Been so RUDELY disrespected in a business type enviornment in MY LIFE! All of this during an over 5 1/2 hour phone call.

I was angry, and everytime I spoke with someone I appologized in advance to my anger, and I had told them, that it was my situation I was angry with.

During this over 5 1/2 hour phone conversation I was hung up on twice! LAUGHED at disresepectively for trying to resolve the situation by offering to pay for the repair, if in return IBM could provide me with written assurance that this time it would be fixed. And even lied too. An employee told me that a manager would return my call in 10 minutes. After 20 minutes of waiting I returned the call myself. Come to find out the call center actually closed in 10 minutes and I had no way of continuing my compaint.

I have never in my life experienced such a horrible 5 1/2 hour time period. And than to be dissrespected throughout those 5 hours like I never have in my life!

All of these phone conversations throughout the 51 /2 time period have been recorded by ibm. The only employee that remotely helped me informed me of this. Plus the operator on ibms phone states the same thing.

Also ibm has a record of everything that has happened in the life of the laptop, i was also informed of this. Please, i incourage all of you that don't believe ibm could do this, to please request all information (pretend your me if you have too!!!) for the following case number from ibm. Fortunately for me two or three of the at least 10 people i talked to informed me that it is possible to request all information from ibm. Recorded phone calls etc.

I guess what I would really like out of all of this, is to just inform the world that IBM WILL RIP YOU OFF!

If your not a school forking out millions of the governements money, than your issues at IBM are of no importance to them.

They do not care what they sold you. They do not care about what a $1 means to you. They will make you feel like no one, and they will back it up with rude comments, laughter, and less than subpar products.

The three year warranty I purchased had no merit in IBMs eyes. It was never fullfilled, and I have been left with an 8lbs over $2000 dollar paperweight.

I BELIEVE IN ALL MY HEART that IBM did not replace my motherboard the last time it was sent in. And despite the fact that the employees I talked to said they could provide me with the serial numbers of my old motherboards they replaced, I was unable, after over 5 hours of trying, to come in contact with a person who could provide me this information.

In addition when I requested the phone number of the office resposible for dealing with such issues, and the office responsible for listening to the recorded phone calls... I WAS HUNG UP ON (conviently) for the SECOND TIME...

If anyone could provide me with information as to what more I can do to try and rectify this injustice, get those recorded phone calls, get my laptop repaired CORRECTLY/FINALLY, or possibly put my word out to more people I would GREATLY appreciate it. And so would the people who could possibly suffer the same fate as me.

I simply don't understand how its possible to get away with such POOR SERVICE! Poor service that has left me without my data for work, has possibly costed me my job, and could therefore put quite the damper on my home life and family.

Please help!

And stay away from ibm!
