Ripoff Disreputable Company with Defective Products

I purchased a V2 Premier Laptop in January through ShopNBC. I had this product less than one year when the first defect was noted. The company was contacted and because I still had a warranty they paid to ship the product to them and repaired the defect. I have now had the product for less than two years and another defect has been noted. My entire laptop screen is black and will not work. I contacted the company to discuss my concern regarding the second defect in less than two years and they refused to help me. I was told be an employee with badge number (009), that they would not look at the computer and determine what was wrong because my warranty had expired in January.

I did not ask them to fix the computer, but just asked them to look at it and let me know what was wrong with the prodcut that they sold to me. I was told that they would do nothing to help me and that I needed to take the product to a local computer company and see if they might be able to fix it for me. I spent over $1,600.00 on this new laptop less than two years ago! I was without the product for approximately 8 days when it stopped working at the end of 2005 and now it has completely stopped working and the company is refusing to assist me. When I asked to speak to a supervisor to discuss my concern regarding the products that the company sells, I was informed that I could speak to a voice mail system.

Apparently, this company will not only refuse to fix their own defective merchandise, but they will refuse to speak to you about complaints. My concern is that this appears to be a disreputable company that is making money selling defective products and then trying to make more money by asking consumers to purchase extended warranty's to cover the defective products.

I have contacted the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and I am waiting for a reply from the company. I am also planning on contacting the Attorney General of Minnesota. I have also contacted ShopNBC and lodged a formal complaint. I was told by ShopNBC that a complaint was placed in my file, but that they could do nothing for me because my purchase was over one year old. I asked them if they cared about the quality of products that they are selling to consumers. I was told that they were sorry but could not help me. I asked if they tracked complaints and I was told they had a department that tracked quality. I asked to speak to someone in this department and was told that I could not.

I would like a refund from this company and will never do business with them again! I would however be interested in a class action lawsuit against this company! It appears they do not care about their products and are truly ripping people off!
They need to be stopped!!
