I was given a HP compaq presario laptop computer for mothers day this year. Today July 12. I noticed a crack in my screen. I called customer service twice to see what they could do, and the first rep told me it was human error that had caused the damage. I asked how they figured that I had damaged it and they stated that I must be opening and closing the laptop the wrong way. Now come on I am a 41 year old women and I can guarantee I did not damage the screen. The second rep I talked to stated that it was an internal error, but was not covered under the warrenty. The stated I could send it in and get it fixed for 350.00. I understand why companies have a warrenty, but a computer that is two months old should have a warrenty for the screen. I believe after reading some of the complaints about the HP products, and my own experience that they are knowingly selling a defective product they are not willing to fix it. I will tell everyone I know about these problems and I will tell them not to buy any HP product. I know HP does not care about customer complaints because they have a lot of money but eventually with my help and the fact they are cheating the public will come back and bite them. I will also report this company to the better business bueroe. (sp)
