I recently purchased a laser printer from Overstock. The description of the item did state that it was refurbished but did not state that this meant that it would not come with toner. I have contacted customer service on several occasions and they have not helped at all aside from the lovely "five dollar credit" for my "inconvenience." I have spoken with a supervisor and received an e-mail from their research department, chatted w / customer service reps both online and on the phone. They absolutely refuse to fix this.
My point is, anyone buying a printer would reasonably expect to have toner included unless it is stated that it is excluded. If you go to any store, your first toner/ink cartridge is in the packaging. My cost for this printer was $120. The cost of a new toner cartridge is $57. The cost for a brand new printer (a comparable one just went on sale) is $130 which includes toner.
I am now attempting to return the printer and they are telling me that the shipping is at my cost and they are charging me a restocking fee. Unbelieveable. Do business with Overstock at your own risk!
