Ripoff

I found the consumer complaints website literally ten minutes after I placed my order with Joe Richey's company, Swapselltrade. After reading the other complaints, I became very worried about the quality of the products I would be receiving. However, from Mr. Richey's rebuttals, he makes it sound as if he runs a good and fair business, and these unsatisfied customers are the few customers who are hard to please.

So I decided to give swapselltrade the benefit of the doubt and wait to see what would come. I had ordered their Geneva watch sets that were supposed to retail for $150. Ha! In my opinion, the watches that I received could not possibly have sold anywhere for $150. Some of the silver plating on one of the watches had actually rubbed off onto the box that it was shipped in. The gold colored plating on some of the other watches had worn down as well, leaving blotches of exposed metal. Despite these flaws, these watches still could not (in my opinion) retail for more than $15, let alone $150, and I myself would not buy them if they were on clearance at the dollar store. I also ordered some of their 1.99 silver and gold plated rings that were supposedly just like the ones sold on a "major home shopping network". The gold and silver overlay is supposed to be guaranteed for life against fading. I wore one of the silver rings for five days straight, and by the fifth day, spots of the plating had come off. One of the gold rings appeared to already be fading when I received it.

To be fair, the cubic zirconia stones in the rings do look nice, though. One of the rings was a size 11 woman's ring, which will be very hard to resell.

I also ordered some of their Disney watch sets. They look exactly as they appeared on their website. They look decent, and the boxes they are packaged in are in good condition. I haven't opened any of the boxes yet to see if they actually work, though.

Now for their Diamel earrings. Most of them look decent, but a few of them had some very noticeable flaws on them. I have researched similar earrings on ebay, and it looks as though I won't be able to sell any of them for more than I paid for them (including the per item cost of shipping and their ridiculous $12 processing fee), and I might even lose some money. I also ordered some of their designer perfume. It was a designer that I have never heard of, The Perfumer's Workshop, LTD. I put some of the perfume on. My husband said I smelled like bug spray.

Finally, I ordered some of their "critters", which are sleeping puppies made of rabbit fur. They don't look as nice as they do on their website. I paid approximately $7.00 for each of them, including fees. Similar items are selling on ebay for $5, so I can't sell these for any kind of a profit either. They advertise all over their website that their products are great for ebay resellers, yet not one of the items I purchased looks as though it will sell on ebay for more than I paid for it, and I'll end up losing money because of the damaged, unsellable items I received.

As far as their self described "friendly" customer service goes, it is a little lacking. When I originally placed my order, the lady who helped me asked for my credit card number. I gave it to her, and I then asked her how much my total would be, and how much the shipping was. She could not tell me how much my total was!

When I asked about the shipping charge, she said it should be about $20, and she said something like "We'll hope it is under $20!" When I buy something and give someone my credit card number, I don't want to hope for the price, I want to know how much will be charged on my credit card! Four or five days later I received my invoice with the total on it. The shipping was closer to $30.

Also, I emailed the company with a few simple, generic questions about the products that I ordered. The curt response from them was something like "All information is on the website." I looked all over the website, and couldn't find the answers to my questions, that is why I emailed their customer service department!

Now I could return my products to the company and get my money back. I paid a total of $150 for my purchase, of which I will be out the $12 processing fee, $28 shipping fee, and $22 restocking fee (20% of my purchase), PLUS the cost of shipping all products back. I think I'll just cut my losses this time. I have been completely fair in my assessments of the products I received from this company in this report. I hope that everyone who reads these complaints and sees some of Mr. Richey's unprofessional rebuttals can understand what type of company this is.

Lastly, I think that this company may also be connected to the website 'Saves You Cash', but I am not certain. I have found so many things wrong with this company that I could keep going, but I'll end here.
