Ripoff, dodgey terms and conditions, nearly impossible requirements without spending more than offe

They said I'd receive a free Motorola RAZR phone with just a few easy steps. It's an obvious scam, but I wanted to see how they do it.

So you go on, and put in your email, start looking over their offers. First it says, 'You're almost done. Just pick one offer from the list below to continue.' The next screen requires you choose two more offers, and of course, "You're almost done!" The next screen requires THREE more offers, and "You're almost done!"

By the way, many of their offers are 'Free Trials, ' what they don't say in the Terms and Conditions, is that just applying for the 'Free Trial' isn't good enough, you have to keep the memberships tied to the free trials after the free trial period. It may say this somewhere on the 'Help' page, but it's NOT in the Terms and Conditions.

After about 1-1/2 hours of this, joining six offers, I actually get the 'You're done.' So I log back in to check on my status. It says the email I used to log in doesn't exist in the system. I never received a confirmation email. I double-checked the account I was using was active and correct.

First I went to the 'retrieve/set up your password' page and entered my registration email address. "Not Found In Our System" is the response. (My address was there and correct as you'll see later.)

Then you go to their 'help' page and fill out their help form, it won't work because you haven't confirmed membership email address, because they never sent a confirmation email.

I filled out the other customer service forms and never received any replies to FOUR 'pleas for help.'

So, I painstakingly read all the fine print. Their Terms and Conditions say that they don't have to send out the same thing they promise when you apply, you're enticed with a RAZR phone, but they send out a crappy surplus phone and you have no legal recourse.

Their Terms and Conditions also say that they can change ANY of the membership details at any time, so, if they were going to have to ship you a $400 RAZR phone, they could just say, "That membership isn't valid because Urban Nutrition pulled out of our offer, you need to join another offer to make your membership 'valid.'"

So, after searching their site over and over I finally find their phone number, I call (512) 652-9015. They say, "Sorry, our system is down, it's not working right now. Try calling back IN A WEEK."

Their web page is still up, and allowing people to spend money on their offers, but it's apparently not tracking any of the offers for which you sign up, for an entire week.

I call back in a week, tell her my email address, and she says, "Oh, you don't have a password, why don't I give her one and then it will work." (This function exists on the website but it doesn't work, you have to call.)

I asked the person on the phone if my membership would still be valid if I cancelled the Rhapsody account. She tells me that it's clearly stated in the Terms and Conditions that you have to keep the accounts past the Free Trail status to remain valid. I checked, there is no language such as this in the Terms and Conditions, in fact, the word Rhapsody isn't in the Terms and Conditions at all!

If it looks like a scam, and comes as spam. It's a Ripoff Scan. I'd be really surprised if they've shipped a single Free Gift ever.
