On April 29th, I went to 123nc.com in order to look up my criminal record. When I logged onto the site, I was looking only for 'criminal' history and not traffic citations.
I was well aware of the traffic citations on my record and I could've picked that record up at the dmv or downtown for $5.00.
I made the transaction to pull my record on 123nc.com and then I was very nervous when I saw four incidents listed. I was still under the impression that I was viewing real criminal records and not minor traffic citations.
Of course, due to my increased concern, I clicked on two of the records and was very relieved to see that they were not criminal.
However, I felt that I had been tricked into thinking that these incidents may be criminal when they were not. I know that this could matter could be viewed as simply a difference of opinion, therefore, I was not asking for a complete refund. I did ask 123nc.com to refund the $30 out of $45 that I spent looking at minor infractions.
My dispute to 123nc.com was followed by a denial letter and $100 credit on my next visit to their site (which I will not use).
