I purchase every single electronic items, DVD, Playstation games, etc from Best Buy. Each time they try to sell you their warranty plans for the electronics I buy it because the way it is sold to you by their $10 dollar an hour hired help.
I purchased a Lap Top Computer from them a year ago and also purchased their warranty plan for $400 dollars because they said it was well worth it. Recently I went to take my computer into the store for a simple repair. The PCMA slot windows fell off from putting my Ethernet Adapter in and out of the slots.
They sent it away for repair and three weeks later they returned it saying it was due to physical damage. Of course this made me upset and I asked to speak to a Manager which I did. He looked at the computer and agreed with me that my computer was in great shape and the problem was obviously due to wear and tear from using it all the time.
He sent it back again with his own notes asking them to please repair the problem also writing that is was from wear and tear and not physical damage. It came back again three weeks later and still not fixed. At this time I was furious. I use this Lap Top for business and if anyone does also they know you can not do anything without your computer.
At this time it was out of the stores hands and I called and wrote to Customer Care. They do not talk to you on the phone so email was the only way to communicate. The bottom line is they were the most unhelpful Customer Care team that I ever dealt with in my life and again the bottom line is they passed the buck again to the store.
At this time my computer is not fixed probably since they didn't want to fix something that was too costly to them. They are the worst and I have cancled my credit card with them and will not ever give them my business again. I totaled the amount of money I spent at their store and it totaled over 15,000 dollars, and they can not even fix a couple of hundred dollars repair.
Thieves they are! They also do not take responsibility for their employees words on how they sell the warranty. I read the warranty in its entirety and no where does it say that they will not fix it due to wear and tear. Be ware of their tacky technics when they sell this crappy warranty.
