Having bought a webcam I wanted to make friends with other webcam users. I registered with IFriends which said it was FREE.
I made sure I checked the terms and conditions and read all information carefully. I also made sure I didn't select any tickboxes that would result in charges for a premium service. I wanted the FREE service as advertised.
Sometime later I noticed a small charge on my Visa and got in touch with IFriends. I asked for my money back and told them that the information they provided did not state that a transaction would be made on my card upon registration.
In response I got a some money back but not the full amount. IFriends may argue that it was the exchange rate that caused the shortfall. The fact is I should never have been billed in the first place, having been told registration was free, and not having been told a transaction would be made!
On the sinister side the small amount they didn't refund me if multiplied by tens of thousands of people could add up to quite a bit of money! I would steer clear of them and warn your friends, "IFriends are not my friends".
I hope I save you some bother,
