This company scams Demeter customers by misleading them into thinking they are buying from Demeter directly. I have been a customer of Demeter for 6 years and they used to have an actual store in Manahattan. The store closed a couple of years ago. I knew they were on line so I searched Google and found Demeteronline.com. Unfortunately, I did not see the other 2 reports filed about this site at the time. Demeteronline.com is NOT Demeter itself, just a resale company.
I placed an order on September 15 and unfortunately paid with my Paypal debit card. The funds were taken out of the account immediately. The order set pending for 2 weeks. I tried to call and left countless messages on an answering service. Never got to talk to a real person or got a return phone call. I called Demeter headquarters after locating the actual company offices here in New York (not demeteronline.com). They are not related or endorsed by the actual Dememeter company in any way. They are just resellers. They tried to help me but it didn't work. I sent 5 emails to demeteronline.com and filed customer requests to no avail.
Finally, on November 2, I receive an email from Demeteronline.com saying my order had been cancelled and a refund would be issued. Today is January 5 and I have no refund. I contacted Paypal and their lame excuse was I waited too long, they only guarantee or reverse charges up to 30 days.
I tried to file a complaint with the BBB but couldn't because there is no real information on Demeteronline.com. There is no address or actual contact info. I could not even find out where they are located. I did the whois search but the contact for the domain didn't help either.
During this time the website demeteronline.com has been taken down several times, phone line has been disconnected and reconnected. No one contacted me, even though I emailed them several times. I waited because I thought I was dealing with Demeter directly and I trust them. If I knew this was some other company I would have never placed the order. It's a scam! I have purchased things on line and I have my own ecommerce site. Never, never buy from Demeteronline.com. This site is a Scam! Shame on them!
